Condition of wines
We take the provenance of all the wines we list very seriously and we only source direct from the chateau or from the relevant wine co-operative. As a result problems with the condition of wines rarely occur. By placing an order with Bordeauxwine.fr customers accept that they are sold in the condition that is expected of them according to their age, vintage and general condition. Photographs of the wines can be requested prior to purchase. Should a wine be delivered in a ‘corked’ condition we will endeavour to provide an amicable solution with the supplier. In the case of our own chateau wine we will replace the product free of charge once the items have been returned to us or once a photograph has been provided that clearly shows the product to be sub-standard.
We cannot guarantee that any wine will be to your taste. We will make every effort to match your needs to our wines, but this does not constitute any form of warranty.
Any orders destined for export must be paid for in full before the goods are released for shipment. Please note that once a consignment has left our offices we are not responsible for the quality of the shipment on arrival at its final destination.
Reserve Storage
Bordeauxwine.fr are happy to store your wines for you alongside our own personal collection within Château du Faure Haut Normand. Whilst in our care we will guarantee they are fully insured and maintained within a controlled environment that is appropriate for your wines.
Our storage year runs from 1st January – 31st December and our fee includes insurance at replacement value. Charges are rendered annually in arrears, or when the wine is delivered, for the year or part year. Our storage and insurance charge for 12 months is €2 per case (of 12 bottles) per month.
A list of reserves will be sent to each customer annually in January, with the invoice for storage and insurance. That invoice will show details of wines, drinking dates, purchase price and an estimated market value. We are not responsible for ullage or wines losing their condition. Drinking dates are for guidance and will depend on your personal preference.
Payment terms are upon presentation of invoice. We reserve the right to exercise a lien over stock and/or to sell some or all of a customer’s reserves and to deduct from the proceeds of this sale any outstanding storage and insurance charges or other amounts due.
Reserves are insured against all risks of physical loss or damage as at the date of such loss or damage, subject to the policy terms and conditions. Storage and insurance charges will be reviewed annually.
Valuations
We offer a portfolio valuation service for large collections using independent data for the provision of market prices, chargeable at cost. We can also offer expert advice on the management of your wine collection. Please contact us for a quotation. Any valuation we make is not a guaranteed value, nor is it a promise to purchase and is made purely on an indicative basis.
