John’s View:
At the time we first came to live in Bordeaux, I preferred the wines of Pauillac and Medoc to those around St Emilion. Bel Air Ouy was one of the first ‘Right Banker’ to make me start to think otherwise. This is not because it is the finest wine you will ever taste but because it provides a dark intensity yet with a fruity layer that makes it much easier to drink than you get from, say, a Pauillac. An everyday wine that will work well when friends drop in for an unplanned supper or for that “Friday night feeling” wine.

Clos du Beau Pere 2015
Pomerol is of course home to some of the most expensive wines in the world including Petrus which sells for thousands of Euro a bottle. Now nobody is going to pretend that Clos du Beau Pere is in the same class as that but if you want all that deep, jammy, full-on Pomerol flavour without the price tag this is it. Buying Pomerol requires more than the ability to read the label; there are many who simply trade off the name and do not follow up with the finished product - we here at bordeauxwine.fr should know as we have tasted most of them! The 2015 is a classic vintage, just beginning to drink well now and will continue to improve for 10 years or more. One for the cellar and/or the dinner table!
