Château La Marzelle – 2016
Official Tasting Notes:
Showing a nice depth of color, the wine pops with black raspberries, licorice, smoke and spice box aromas. The wine is plush, rich, round and loaded to the gills with layers of black cherries, cocoa and licorice. There is density and lift, with luscious textures. This wine keeps getting better and better.

John’s View:
If you like the depth and smoothness of Pomerol wines you will love this. Again not exactly a Petrus but it is much thicker than you would expect for a St Emilion – one of my friends described it is ‘jammy’ which I cannot better as a description except to add ‘black cherry jammy’. You will not find a finer match for rare roast beef. 2016 saw just 5,000 cases so volumes are limited.
Drink by 2045 – but lovely already
